Friday Evening 10 mile Time Trial series 2023
Course - E14a/10 based on Navestock Essex.
The events are scheduled to be held on the E14a/10 course based on Navestock.
These are Club events open for "Private" time trials subject to availability. Just turn up and ride. However, you must be a member of a club affiliated to
Cycling Time Trials.
If not, you will need to ask your club to arrange affiliation or alternatively join a club already affiliated. Becontree Wheelers welcomes new members.
If an event is oversubscribed on the night, preference will be given to Becontree Wheelers members.
Entry fee £4 per ride for all under 18s, and £5 for all others. Card payment only, no cash accepted.
Series to take place every Friday evening from 7 April to 2 September.
Special Conditions to help make the events Covid compliant will apply as will CTT regulations and our own requirents..
The regulations will be strictly applied. You will not be allowed to enter unless you comply fully.
Special events will be included as follows.
- "Prologue". This will be held on
30 June to celebrate the 2023
Tour de France prologue which takes place in Bilbao the following day. All riders will complete 1 lap of the Navestock course.
It will be open to all-comers subject to availability and CTT affiliation.
Points will be available as usual for the Becontree Points competition (The Steve Jackson Competition) but times will not count for the Evening 10 series.
- Road Bike 10.
A Road Bike competition will be included within each
event. Times will be included in the overall event and
also in a separate table. To be eligible for this event riders must use standard bicycles
within CTT regulations with equipment as follows-
- The road bike must posess "drop" or "flat" handlebars.
- No tri bars, clip-on bars or Spinaci bars will be allowed.
- No disc wheels
- Both front and rear wheels must have a minimum of 12 spokes each.
- The maximum rim depth on all wheels is 90mm.
- No aero helmet or one that covers the ears or has a visor can be used
- Riders must not ride with their forearms resting on the bars at any time.
- "Fixed" Competition. To be held on 4 August. To be eligible for the competition riders will be required to use a single fixed gear. Only Becontree club members using "fixed" gear machines will be edible for the points and series competitions.
Becontree members will be competing for the Les Stevens/Tony Dewerson memorial Trophy.

- Be a first claim member of Becontree Wheelers CC
- Have paid the 2023 membership fee.
- Ride in Becontree Wheelers club colours
Heffer Memorial 15 Mile Time Trial
Course - 3 laps of E14a/10 based in Navestock, Essex - Non Standard distance, approx 15 miles.
To be held on Sunday 14 May 2023.
Club Runs
Club members meet by the bus stop outside Corbetts Tey cemetery (RM14 2UY) (what 3 words:/// merit.grape match) each Sunday morning for a gentle social ride.
All members are welcome to participate but they leave at 7:30 am sharp so don't be late. The length of the ride and the route are generally agreed at the time.
Off-Road section
The off road section of the club goes out twice a week.
Meet at Hacton Lane playground car park (wht3words:/// bits.limes.race) at 9am on Saturday mornings and at 9.30 am on Wednesday mornings.
You will need an off road machine as most of the riding is on trails.
